UK NGN Numbers Effective February 1st, 2004

With increasing frequency, foreign telephone companies will impose heavy surcharges and/or premium prices on calls placed to certain numbers in their territory. International mobile phones are a prime example. Recently, the UK has begun charging premium rates to all calls beginning with '8' (after the 44 country code,) citing these calls as "in-country toll-free" and/or "special services." Therefore:

Effective immediately, all calls to area 011-44-8 in the United Kingdom are subject to a charge of $5.00 per minute.
